A while back, we wrote about the HTC Galaxy here the first time but after it became silent. Now it appeared on Qtek's European website, including the full list of features and specifications.

The new Qtek G100 is the first device in the Qtek range to focus on personal navigation. This non-GSM device features an integrated GPS module for complete global tracking. The 64K color display measures 2.8" to provide a large area from which to view your choice of navigation software. At the heart of the device is the new Microsoft Window Mobile 5.0 operating system supporting full PDA business functionality. The device can be connected via a number of convenient and high speed options such as WiFi, Bluetooth or Mini USB.

Feature Highlights

  • Consumer centric personal navigation assistant with embedded GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth Microsoft Windows Mobile Magneto Pocket PC OS

    • Velocity: 0.05 meter/sec steady state
    • Position: < 5 meters, 95% typical
    • Velocity: 0.05 meter/sec steady state

Since the G100/HTC Galaxy isn't supporting GSM/GPRS or UMTS, it's out of interest for me but I know many users who are really keen to get this device into their hands.
Nevertheless, the launch should be around the corner and is even expected before Christmas.

Cheers ~ Arne

This is HTCs first device without an integrated phone, correct?  I really love all their phone devices, both PPC and Smartphone, so I'll be interested to see how a non-phone device works out for them.

Beside all the Compaq and HP iPaqs (except the H5000 series which wasn't build by HTC), yes. wink
No, serious - HTC has a way longer Windows Mobile tradition and was building Pocket PCs long time before the Phone Edition was introduced but you are right, it's the first non-Phone Edition device for Qtek and i-mate (who will carry it also as i-mate N).

I never knew HTC manufactured the ipaqs.  Thanks for the info.  I guess I have only read about their phone devices because I follow the phone world more.
