Sony Ericsson today announced the new Xperia mini (HD) the latest addition to its line of Xperia Android smartphones. Building on the success of the original Xperia mini, the Xperia mini (HD) comes packed full of features. Powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and running Android 2.3/Gingerbread, the beautifully designed Xperia mini (HD) integrates best-in-class imaging and display technology from Sony, including Sony's Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine. The new Xperia mini features a 3" HVGA scratch-resistant, multitouch mineral glass touchscreen and the improved user interface allows to display up to 16 apps on the home screen.
The Xperia mini HD features quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dual/triband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz or 850/1900/2100 MHz, Bluetooth, WiFi, aGPS and an FM radio. The main camera on the back supports 5 megapixel and allows to record HD 720p videos. At a size of 88 x 52 x 16mm, the Xperia mini (HD) weights 94 grams only!
Together with the announcement of the Xperia mini, Sony Ericsson also unveiled a new integration of Facebook. Facebook inside Xperia integrates social connections throughout the phone, by making Facebook immediately accessible from the most used areas of the phone such as the picture gallery, music player, phonebook and calendar. As people are becoming increasingly reliant on their smartphones for instant communication, Sony Ericsson is enabling people to "like", share and comment more easily than ever before with Facebook inside Xperia.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia mini will be launched in Q3-2011 and will be available in black, white, dark pink and blue. A price wasn't announced today!
