Today, during a CeBIT preview event, T-Mobile Germany unveiled the MDA Dasic, a low-cost Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional touchscreen smartphone. Featuring GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth and WiFi, the MDA Basic lacks 3G support. The touchscreen features a QVGA resolution only and also the camera supports 2 megapixel only. The MDA Basic runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and it looks like it's manufactured by HTC (the Today screen seems to feature HTC's TouchFlo 2D). No word yet about inbuilt memory but T-Mobile unveiled that the MDA Basic will support microSD memory cards:

At a size of 105 x 59 x 16 mm, the MDA Basic weights 110 gram. Available from February, with a 24 months contract the MDA Basic will be available for 4.95 Euro. However, T-Mobile Germany will also offer it in a prepaid version where the device will cost less then 200 Euro.

Cheers ~ Arne
