E-TEN Information Systems recently introduced the G500+ Pocket PC Phone Edition with built-in GPS, which is and updated version of the previously introduced G500 and so far still the only Pocket PC Phone Edition that integrates all the functions needed by mobile professionals or frequent travelers in one convenient device. Quadband GSM and GPRS support allows G500+ owners to send and receive voice, text and data calls from almost anywhere in the world and with the newly added Direct Push technology functions the G500+ even allows businesses to set up 'Push E-Mail' services so that mobile workers are always in touch with the office.
The G500+ includes an increased 256MB of flash memory (double the previous capacity) enabling users to store information such as contacts and files, additional applications or extra GPS maps directly on the device without the need for additional memory cards. The newly integrated FM radio supports advanced RDS functionality and boasts an intuitive interface which makes it easy to search for broadcasts in the area, providing useful access to local news and updates or for providing entertainment on long journeys.

E-TEN includes several exclusive software utilities designed to deliver the best possible GPS experience. Included are; Satellite Data Update, a utility which can shorten the positioning time of GPS signals to as little as 10-20 seconds by enabling a quick link to satellite records from E-TEN's own servers and also the potentially life saving a Location SMS application which allows a user's GPS coordinates to be sent to any SMS enabled phone at the touch of a button aiding the rapid response of emergency services in a critical situation.

Unfortunately, also the G500+ still lacks support for W-LAN. Nevertheless, the G500+ is available for immediate delivery now.

Cheers ~ Arne
