While Android has its strength ins synchronizing to the cloud, there's no native Android sync client to synchronize a device with a PC. Therefore, most manufactures offer their own solutions and HTC has recently updated its HTC Sync, which lets you synchronize Outlook and Windows Address Book (Outlook Express), contacts and calendar events on your PC with your phone. It also lets you install third-party Android applications on the phone and supports the Mobile Network sharing function. Version 2.0.33 now supports the new HTC Legend and HTC Desire, in addition to the previously already supported HTC Magic, HTC Hero and HTC Tattoo. HTC Sync is applicable globally.

Other enhancements include Outlook 2000 support and support for Finnish and Portuguese (Brazil). Also part of HTC Sync is the ability to synchronize your contact pictures along with the contact information and sync your smartphone's time with your PC's time and vice versa.

HTC Sync 2.0.33 can now be downloaded free of charge from HTC's support site.

Cheers ~ Arne
