According to French mobility site Mobinaute.com, E-Ten plans to re-release its Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition M600 as M600+ which is expected to arrive in the same design and form factor but should includes enhanced features.
While the E-Ten M600 is a quad-band GSM device already, featuring GPRS as well, this WAN functionality will stays untouched, so no EDGE enhancement here. Also the integrated W-LAN standard is expected to stay 802.11b only. But Bluetooth is rumored to get an update to faster Bluetooth 2.0 and also the camera should get an update from today's 1.3 megapixel camera to a new and state of the art 2.0 megapixel camera.
While the CPU will stays untouched as well (SAMSUNG ARM CPU with 400 MHz - which is already state of the art) the memory will get an upgrade from today's 128 MB to 256 MB which would make the refreshed device a best in class one.
According to Mobinaute.com, the E-Ten M600+ can be expected in Europe, at least in France, within June. A price wasn't given yet.
Cheers ~ Arne
