that Microsoft is working on a Windows Mobile Device Center Update for Windows
Vista, it's here now - including the expected file sync feature for Windows
Mobile Standard Smartphones.
The Windows Mobile Device Center enables you to set up new partnerships,

powered devices (Windows Mobile 2003 or later). The Windows Mobile Device Center

This new version of the Windows Mobile Device Center contains key improvements
and new features to support Windows Mobile 6 devices. The Windows Mobile Device
Center 6.1 is only supported on Windows Vista.

Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 is fully compatible with all Windows Mobile
2003 devices and later and is available now as manual download for Windows Vista 32- and 64-bit.
As far as I can see, it's not yet part of the Windows Vista "Windows Update" but
should be added soon.
