UPDATE: MSN released MSN Messenger 7.5 for Windows PCs

And the next one! After today's Google Talk and Skype IM announcements also MSN has something to contribute to step-up the competitive pace in the messaging arena with today's release of MSN Messenger 7.5, an updated version of the MSN's chat client. As always the program is available as a free download from MSN.

The new version primarily offers back-end improvements to help overall performance, with just a few rudimentary changes in the feature set. It now allows the exchange of brief audio clips of up to 15 seconds, and also includes dynamic backgrounds that add some visual variety to the program's appearance.

MSN Mobile, the Windows Mobile client of MSN Messenger shouldn't be affected by these changes/update even if most of the current features, MSN Messaging offers cannot be used with MSN Mobile. No VoIP, no contact grouping, no exchange of handwritten messages (while a Pocket PC would be the best device for this) but just plain IM. :-(
