Earlier this week, Qik announced a wider and better support for Windows Mobile Professional smartphones. Beside that Qik is now available for a bunch of new Windows Mobile smartphones like the HTC Touch Dual, HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Touch Pro, HTC TyTn II/AT&T Tilt, Qik also announced support for the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X1! Furthermore, Qik released Alpha versions for the HTC Mogul, HTC Vogue (the CDMA version for HTC Touch) and the Samsung Omnia. Other improvements in the this version (0.1.10) includes CPU optimization in stand-by mode and improved frames/second.

While the Alphas are not yet perfect (on the screenshot above, Qik running on a Samsung SGH-i900 Omnia), they are already somewhat working and allows you to stream from your mobile phone to the Internet.

If you already have a Qik account and want to try a different device, you have to reinstall Qik through the web interface. If you don't have a Qik account yet but you want to try it out, you can register for free.

Cheers ~ Arne
