Qik just announced that they've released a new version of Qik for Windows Mobile non-touchscreen smartphones (formerly known as Windows Mobile Standard smartphones) which comes with a bunch of new features and improvements Contacts integration, enhanced sharing, upload of existing videos and much more.
Furthermore, the new version supports more languages including French, Russian, German, Italian, Spanish and Chinese as well as the update contains a number of quality improvements including the ability to stream at a much higher frame rate even in low light conditions.

With the Qik v0.2.44 you can send a live video message to your Contacts, directly from the Contacts application on your phone. It allows you to start streaming live to Qik and send an SMS to the selected contact with the link to the video.
Upload existing videos allows you to upload previously recorded videos to Qik, for instance if you hadn't had coverage to stream it live or if you notice later that the recorded video is worth to be shared.

As always, Qik is available free of charge but you better have a appropriate data plan. As mentioned, the new features are yet available for Standard Windows Phones only, however, Qik already announced that the similar capabilities will be available soon tor touchscreen Windows Mobile smartphones.

Cheers ~ Arne
