Finally, also the users of the US Smartphone from Samsung, get the enjoyment of the most important Smartphone software updates.
Beside Microsoft's MSN Messenger update, i600 owners can also download several other bugfixes:

Welcome to Samsung's SCH-i600 Smartphone portal. Here you can find the latest in updates and links to Samsung’s other Mobile Intelligent Terminals and the newly constructed Developer portal, the premier resource for your mobile software development needs for Samsung mobile handsets.

  • MSN Messenger Update: This update will install the latest MSN Messenger Client on your Samsung SCH-i600 Smartphone. This Update can only be used for handsets running software version WI23.
  • Caller ID Update: This update will allow you to view the phone number of an incoming call on the outside Caller ID display. And when the flip is open this update will allow you to immediately view the Contact Name and Number that is stored in your address book. This Update can only be used for handsets running software version WI23.
  • HKCR Registration Key Update: This update unlocks the HKCR and allows an application to access this parameter during installation.

All updates are free of charge and available from Samsung's new "Smartphone Portal".

Cheers ~ Arne

Kind Regards,

One Freezing Issue from my experience can be caused by pressing a speed dial number.  This sometimes causes the wait cursor to appear forever.  I did a bit of testing and I think that there is a bug when you sync your i600 w/ your PC it causes the speed dial link to your contact to be invalid even though it's still shows up. I have been able to repeatedly reproduce this.  The solution is to reapply the speed dial association on your phone.  Anyone else had this issue?

There are some other random and rare freeze issues but it's not such a big deal and I've had similar things happen on my Motorola non-SmartPhone phones.

Hope this helps
