While O2 Germany has recently announced to postpone its HTC Desire Android 2.2 upgrade due to quality issues, Vodafone UK has announced today that the Froyo upgrade will be rolled-out early next week. Furthermore, as promised, Vodafone has removed all Vodafone 360 services from the upcoming firmware but releasing Vodafone 360 services as a separate download from the Android Market instead. According to Vodafone UK's support forum, customers will receive an alert telling them that their handset is ready for an update from Monday 23 August and this alert will be phased over a two week period.
While Vodafone's Android 2.2 upgrade won't include the Vodafone 360 services anymore, customers have to uninstall them manually if the previous Android 2.1 update added Vodafone 360 to the HTC Desire. In any case, Vodafone UK offers an easy to follow step-by-step instruction.
UPDATE: Vodafone Germany has also confirmed now that it will roll-out the Android 2.2 upgrade next Monday, August 23rd.
