It looks like HTC is having some real progress to bring Android 2.3/Gingerbread to the Desire - the device formerly known as HTC's flagship Android smartphone. After the company first said that there won't be an upgrade to Android 2.3 and backpedaled a little bit later just to inform us that they will bring Gingerbread to the Desire at costs of some HTC Sense goodies, HTC has just announced on its Facebook fan page that they "are testing our build of Gingerbread for HTC Desire and will start doing quality assurance for it this week. When we have an update on availability we'll post another announcement. Thanks for your patience".
Sounds promising and it seems HTC Desire owners can expect some Gingerbread-love for end of this summer. Now one question remains: Are we talking about Android 2.3.3 or Android 2.3.4? Please HTC, don't waste your time with 2.3.3 but bring us the latest version anyway!
