As expected and promised, HTC has released Android 4.4 KitKat for its HTC One Google Play Edition phone. While the upgrade is yet not distributed as a FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) update, interested developers and customers can download it now from HTC's very own Developer Center. Even if it's an HTC device, the Google Play Edition comes - as expected . with the stock Android user interface and services and is therefore lacking HTC Sense 5.5. If you can't wait for the FOTA roll-out, you can now start upgrading your HTC One (Google Play Edition only) to the latest Android version; if you know what you are doing. If not it's suggested to better wait for the official roll-out, which should start anytime soon as well.

HTC provides for interested developers and users two packages, the Framework and Support Files which are around 372 MB and the Stock UI which is around 100 MB.

Cheers ~ Arne

You can also download the OTA file from Google here http://bit.ly/182q7bj
Flashing is according to XDA Developers straight forward, just put it on your device and flash via "Recovery". Will do it tonight!
