O2 Germany yesterday released the Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade for its O2 Xda orbit 2, O2 Germany's version of the HTC Touch Cruise.
Beside getting all the Windows Mobile 6.1 goodies like Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 AKU 1.2.3, the enhanced SMS thread-style and the enhanced Internet Explorer Mobile, the upgrade also provides an improved stand-by time, improved Microsoft Exchange 2007 support as well as it now includes Microsoft's Remote Desktop client for remote access to Windows PCs and servers. Furthermore, O2 Germany/HTC added Opera Mobile 9.5 8.65 to the ROM upgrade.

As always, this upgrade wipes all your personal data from your device, so please back-up files, Outlook details like appointments, contacts and notes first.
The ROM upgrade is available free of charge for Xda orbit 2 customers and can be download from O2 Germany's Xda support site.

UPDATE: Bad news, it's only Opera Mobile 8.65 HTC/O2 Germany as given for free with the ROM upgrade.

Cheers ~ Arne
