UPGRADE: T-Mobile Germany and Vodafone Germany releases Android 1.6

Following T-Mobile US, T-Mobile Germany finally rolled-out its Android 1.6 Donut update for the T-Mobile G1. And also Vodafone Germany has started the Android 1.6 Donut roll-out for its HTC Magic. Both carriers are distributing the 1.6 update over the air (OTA) which means the device will download the required update by itself and doesn't need a PC to perform the update. As soon as the update is available for either the G1 or the HTC Magic, the device will notify the user in the top-bar. Alternatively users can do a manual search if an update is available. Google released Android 1.6 Donut last month and it comes with a bunch of improvements which makes it worth to upgrade.

Quite typical for Google Experience phone updates, both updates will be send by Google and not all users will get the update offered at the same time. It could take some extra days to get the update. As always, it's a good idea to perform a backup before installing the update on the device.

Cheers ~ Arne

That's good news for T mobile's germany customers. What I want to know is if the HTC HD2 : already has implemented the Android Donut 1.6 update? Anybody knows?

The HTC HD2 is a Windows Mobile 6.5 Windows phone, not Android!
