UPGRADE: Xetra xBar 3.0 for Windows Mobile Smartphone released

My all-time favorite Smartphone application (together with SmartphoneNotes) xBar got a refresh from Xetra and is available in version 3.0 now.
xBar is a task-switcher and -manager as well as a thermometer for your Windows Mobile Smartphones and gives you the full power of its multitasking capabilities. In my opinion one of the "must have" apps for Smartphones.

xBar 3 is code-signed and therefore fully compatible with Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphone as well as it supports QVGA for Smartphones now (like the Samsung SGH-i300 or Orange C600) as well as VGA for Pocket PC (like the O2 Xda Exec) because v3 was also re-released for Pocket PCs.

Bellow, non-QVGA xBar 2 on a QVGA screen and QVGA-optimized xBar 3 on the same QVGA screen:

In additon to Windows Mobile 5.0 support and support for more screen resolutions, xBar 3 also includes a pen emulation with xMacro (click, move etc...) for Pocket PC as well as you can name a shortcut in xbar\key using the keycde (see keycode.exe in tools pack) now.

Since xBar 3 is not an update of xBar 2 but a new major version the registration code for xBar 2. isn't working anylonger with v3 but you have to upgrade. However, if you bought xBar 2 after Nov 1st 2005, you can ask Xetra for a free upgrade key.

xBar 3 is available from Xetra via PayPal only (Handango and Smartphone.net should follow soon) and costs 6 Euro.

Cheers ~ Arne
