BTAutoSync SP (Bluetooth AutoSync) for Smartphone 2003, is an application which will schedule repeated and automatic ActiveSync over Bluetooth with Desktop PCs, similar to server based sync!
BTAutoSync SP will 'wake up' at user-defined intervals (as often as every minute) and attempt to locate your Bluetooth/ActiveSync Desktop (over Bluetooth) and establish an ActiveSync connection.
BTAutoSync SP will search for your Desktop (Bluetooth partner) at a user-defined interval - if the partner is found, an ActiveSync connection is initiated and synchronization occurs.
- User-defined synchronization schedule (As often as 1 minute)
- Ability to attempt manual synchronization
- Unattended operation
- Device only application (i.e. No 'server side' application installed on the desktop machine)
- Basic debugging information like device IP address, etc
BTAutoSync SP is developed and tested with the Orange SPV C500 (UK Model). BTAutoSync SP should work - according to the developer - on similar handsets (HTC Typhoon/Feeler platform like used for the i-mate SP3 and SP3i as well). However, he haven't had the resources to confirm it yet. Nevertheless I can tell you it's not working with the Motorola MPx220 (which I've tested) because of the different ActiveSync Bluetooth setup HTC and Motorola uses.
The current version is Version 0.0.2 (released 03.01.05) and BTAutoSync SP is still in Beta stage. However, therefore it's also free (but as every developer, also Garth appreciate a donation which is just fair).
Since the current ActiveSync implementation doesn't allows you to disconnect, this is an interesting and smart way to keep your device always up to date!
