It took forever to release it but finaly Microsft released it: Business Contacts for Pocket PC. It allows you to synchronize your business contacts and a subset of your communication history to your Microsoft Windows Mobile Pocket PC device.

While on the go, you can make changes to your business contacts and later synchronize the changes made with the Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager database.

The download contains two parts: a sync provider for Microsoft ActiveSync and a program for the Microsoft Windows Mobile Pocket PC,  Windows Mobile Smartphones aren't supported yet.

I've played a lot with Outlook 2003's Business Contact Manager when I got the first Beta but noticed pretty soon, that I would access it most of the time from my Pocket PC (which wasn't supported back in 2003). Therefore I've stopped to use it. Maybe I will awake it again, since the Pocket PC is supported now. Wonder when and if a Smartphone version will follow.

The download is available free of charge from Microsoft and supports several languages.

Cheers ~ Arne

Well, finally we can sync Business Contact Manager records with the Pocket PC. However, unless I am very mistaken, once you've made your contact a BCM contact, the phone does not find it. In other words, unlike with standard contacts on your Pocket PC, incoming caller is not identified from your contacts list. This is a big hole in my view. Or have I missed something, or does some clever spark know a trick how to make your BCM contacts visible in incoming calls??
