UTILITY: Microsoft to release new Power Toys for Windows Mobile

How Microsoft admitted itself - during the Möbius conference - it's a while already that the last (free) Power Toys for Windows Mobile were released, in fact it was the Homescreen Designer (or whatever) which is a couple of years old now but so far, there wasn't anything dedicated for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. While Microsoft isn't releasing another Homescreen designer (yet), they plan to launch something even better - a couple of free Power Toys for your Windows Mobile device itself - namely a Homescreen photo browser and a Homescreen photo dialer.
Inspired by Palm's implementation of the Todayscreen photo dialer, something similar will come soon for Windows Mobile based Smartphones:

This is nothing groundbreaking but a nice add-on to your Homescreen anyway, since you can call your most called contacts straight ahead from the Homescreen of your device.

The second Power Toy is pretty similar to the photo dialer but a photo browser which lets you browse through our photo archive/having your photo archive displayed on your Homescreen and you can open the photos right from there as well:

Both Power Toys should be released soon, a launch date wasn't given yet.

Cheers ~ Arne
