Philippe Majerus, developer of many useful utilities for Pocket PCs and Smartphones (who doesn't knows his Registry Editors for Pocket PCs and Smartphones) recently released PHM Keys 0.9 which enables you to map Pocket PC (Phone Edition) functions to hardware buttons or shortcuts:

PHM Keys for Pocket PC lets you:

  • Assign new functions to buttons
  • Use functions for keys on external keyboard (if their driver supports starting an application when pressed)
  • Add functions to launcher type of applications (by using provided shortcuts as icons)

This versions adds cycling through running programs, this is a feature I wanted to include since a long time, but had difficulties getting to work the way I wanted.

It's now ready and works even on Pocket PC 2000 devices! Assigning two buttons to Next and Prev. Window makes navigating through running application much easier. Give it a try :-)

PHM Keys for Pocket PC is available for free from Philippe's website.

Cheers ~ Arne
