PhonePlus III is a phone utility which comes to extend the default phone application of the Pocket Pc Phone Edition. This utility makes it a lot easier to dial and search contacts and using speed dial numbers. Accessing contacts from the phone interface (without a stylus) was one of the most inconvenient implementation which kept me away from using my Pocket PC Phone Editions as my primary phone.

However, now PhonePlus III is featuring predictive text technology: by just pressing the first 2 or 3 letters of a name you can reach any contact number you have stored and dial it with a press of a button.

  • Predictive text
  • PhonePlus uses a smart predictive text search - with max of 3-4 clicks on the screen you can dial your contact.
  • Using the GREEN send key to launch and dial using PhonePlus.
  • NEW - SMS feature for sending short messages to phone numbers and contacts.
  • NEW - Languages support and easy shifting between them for almost any language.
  • PhonePlus has big num pad for dialing with your fingers instead of pulling your stylus out!
  • Dial a direct number who doesnt show in your contact list, just like in a regular cellular phone.
  • Dial your favourite contact using a photo.
  • Up to 99 customizable SpeedDial and PhotoDial for immediate dialing.
  • PhonePlus III supports WM2003 only.

PhonePlus III is available for US$ 16.49 from PocketGear.com (affiliate link) and also includes a trial version.

check the new JAM from imate..it has got the most brilliant form of t9 input built in in the phone interface itself..its way to easy to use this one by using fingures to make calls..phone pluss usually hangs and doesnt work to well with pocket informant.
If they have this predective input built in the way they have it in jam which i believe shall be a part of all future devices from htc or if they make a downloadable pluggin to the already in use pocket pc phones...shall rock more than a 3rd party solution.

[1] Yes, 'IntelliPad' and 'IntelliDialer' are sweet (I've already previewed it together with my O2 Xda IIi preview some time back http://www.theunwired.net/index.p...). I love it too but as you say, it's an HTC product so we might see it on future HTC devices but not on older HTC devices (like the Xda II) and for sure we will never see it on other Pocket PC Phone Editions. So this tool might be a good alternative.

[2] And BTW, they don't seem to appear in the PDA2k

[1] Hm.. i believe the t9 input in imate jam is a default SIP from WM2003SE phone edition? Unless you are talking about a different one.
