I'm a real fan of this small utilities which improves Pocket PC functionalities. One of the best developers of this tools is RhinoCode who recently updated it's RhinoLaunch.
It's is a Today screen plug-in that replaces the standard date plug-in and allows shortcuts to be added

RhinoLaunch is designed to be used on all PocketPC devices running PocketPC 2002.

  • Can be setup to replace the standard date plug-in. This will save valuable space on your today screen
  • Tapping on the date will change the date format displayed
  • Tapping on the clock icon on the left will display the standard clock and alarm settings dialog
  • RhinoLaunch can display 'pages' of shortcuts. This is useful for setting up programs, favorites or Games
  • Tapping on the page name will cycle to the next page
  • When setting up a shortcut, an alternative icon can be selected
  • When setting up a shortcut, command line options can also be entered. This is useful for launching the same program with different options
  • Page order is fully customizable
  • Shortcut order is fully customizable
  • Up to 5 lines of shortcuts can be displayed

RhinoLaunch is available from PocketGear for US$ 5.95 only and works well with other popular RhinoCode applications like iPAQPanel 2002 and PocketPanel

Cheers ~ Arne

This is a great app and I am glad someone has the know how to code apps using less space than all the other apps in the same category. Not using more than 20-30 to do something that Omega takes almost ameg to do and it does it better.

RhinoLaunch V1.5 has been released on and  1.5 has improved the ease of adding shortcuts and has a new feature of being able to add a shortcut to a directory.  RhinoLaunch then monitors that directory and automatically adds/removes shortcuts to programs in that directory!
