One of the benefits of using a Windows Mobile as your mobile phone is, you can easily use most MP3 and WMAs as your ringtone. Therefore you don't have to buy expensive ringtones from your carrier. To make the creation of rintones even easier, some time ago VITO Technology created its VITO Ringtone Editor which got an update today. Now it takes you just a couple of clicks to create your own ringtones on your Smartphone or Pocket PC (Phone Edition) with Windows Mobile 2003 and higher; no need to use any PCs in between.
The idea is to listen to your favorite song and select its part to assign as a ringtone. While the melody is playing you mark the beginning and the end of a ringtone: just a matter of two presses. The ringtone is created! Now you can immediately assign it as a default ringtone or just save it. Replay the new ringtone and edit it if you want.
You can use music in WAV, MP3 and OGG formats to create ringtones. The updated version of VITO Ringtone Editor features optimized bit rate: now ringtones have the best sound the speakers on your mobile device can produce.
Other improvements involve ringtones creation. When you choose a melody it starts to play with a short delay, so that you can record a ringtone from its very beginning. Fast forward or rewind with joystick while creating or replaying ringtones to spare your time. Ringtones created from one and the same melody do not replace each other anymore; they are all saved to Windows\Rings.
VITO Ringtone Editor available for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs and Smartphones and is 14 days shareware; after it's available for US$ 9.95. Version 1.0 users get the update free.
