Friends, just a short information that I'm back from my summer-holidays where I was in
France. I had a great time there - first in Brittany and later in Paris. If you never was in France, especially in Brittany - it's absolutely worth to visit!
As posted earlier in one of my comments, I've staid offline most of the time even if two local carriers have GPRS roaming agreements with my home carrier.
No, I simply enjoyed the time with my girlfriend, the nature, the "vin rouge" and lots of "moules frites" :-) and downloaded my personal and public E-Mails once a day (mostly in the evening while I've watched the Olympic games) only.
An like every year, like every vacation I became annoyed again with all these spam messages in my public inbox! It's amazing how many time folks waste to send
useless E-Mails where they either sell small blue pills, ask me for money to make more money out of it or simply invite me for an online game.
While this is annoying enough at home/office where you have to delete all these messages, it becomes even more annoying in international roaming where every KB
counts double or triple!
Another spam phenomenon raised up is "comments spam". While I was away, some folks have started spamming the comments with some dubious links (not really
story related) where they also promises small blue pills for half of the price! So I got these spam as well into my inbox because from every comment, I receive
a notification by E-Mail.
Makes me really wonder how folks can surf through the web an copy/paste useless links because "I can get your small blue pills for better deals - get tons of
E-Mails from companies which makes me a better price"! :evil
Even if I believe into the freedom of speech and prefer to have a site where users aren't forced to register just to send one or two comments, this trend might forces me to
change the way how you guys can add your comments. DubWireless aka BrianG and I are already working on a new system here we hope to introduce soon. While
talking about DubWireless, thanks pal for talking care the forum! Also thanks to Carlo for taking care of the whole site.
Looking forward an amazing second half of the year with some great announcements and developments! Stay tuned!
Cheers ~ Arne
