Paul O'Brien from MoDaCo got the information that HTC's 20-keys SureType-like Touch Dual will not be launched in the UK but the UK (maybe the rest of Europe as well?) will get the 10-keys phone pad-like version only. While it was already known that Orange UK as well as T-Mobile UK decided to launch the 10-keys version in the UK only, it's new to us now that also HTC decided to launch the 10-keys version only; not giving customers the chance to chose between the 10-keys version (pictured bellow right) and the 20-keys version (pictured bellow left):

On the photo above: Left - the O2 Germany Xda star keyboard which sport the German layout of a SureType-kind of QWERTZ keyboard; right the HTC Touch Dual 10-keys keyboard which features additional shortcuts including the Start, Inbox, Delete and Internet Explorer Mobile keys.

It's neither yet confirmed nor known where the 20-keys version is launched but so far I only know about O2 Germany Xda star and haven't seen a HTC Touch Dual in any online shops anymore. Unfortunately, buying an Xda star isn't an option for for of you because it sports the German "QWERTZ" layout (including the "ß") instead of the English "QWERTY" layout.

Will try to get a confirmation from HTC which version is released where.

Cheers ~ Arne
