VIDEOVIEW: E-Ten Glofiish V900 Hardware Hands-on

Following the earlier photoview of E-Ten's upcoming Glofiish V900 Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 smartphone, this videoview shows some of the hardware highlights in detail. As mentioned, the V900 is a quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband UMTS/HSDPA smartphone and it will be the first 3G Windows Mobile smartphone featuring Europe's widely used free to air digital DVB-T TV service. Following the latest developments, the V900 also features a (VGA) flat panel which makes it easier and nicer to use with thumbs and therefore, the device lacks the Windows Mobile typical Start and OK buttons. The autofocus camera on the backside features a 3 megapixel CMOS chip and quite nice is the fact that the device uses a standard 2.5 mm headset plug instead of propriety headset plugs:

The device above isn't a production unit but a pre-production device. Nevertheless, it comes quite close to the production quality. If you have any hardware questions, please feel free to ask in the comments bellow. Coming next is a video walkthrough of the software and GUI implementation.

Cheers ~ Arne

Why didn't they put a standard 3,5 mm stereo-output on it instead of the non-standard 2,5 mm?? That is so stupid!

I agree that 3.5 mm would be way better on the other hand, the 2.5 mm plugs became standard over the years as well, especially in the mobile device/phone space.

are you able to do a thorough review on the device? i heard the battery life is awful. other than that everything's a killer. can you verify?

I have the touch and this device would be a nice upgrade.

Is the tv-out assigned to that port as well? Like on Nokia N95?

It would be very good if it is also possible to output tv/video/audio by the USB port, so that you can easily watch through a computer.

I'm patiently waiting for your software review. It would be good if you could increase the brightness of your videos so that they are clearer.

Thank you!
