The HTC ChaCha is HTC's first of two upcoming Android smartphones with a strong focus on Facebook integration. Following HTC's long tradition of keyboard smartphones, the ChaCha comes with a four rows hardware-keyboard. It is said to run Android 2.3/Gingerbread with HTC Sense 2.1 for Messenger, and will be powered by a 800 MHz Qualcomm CPU. Designed for Europe and Asia, the ChaCha features quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n, aGPS and an FM radio. In addition to the hardware keyboard, the device is featuring a dedicated Facebook button which allows to instantly interact with Facebook, wherever applicable.
The ChaCha in this hands-on videoview is a pre-production prototype; it therefore lacks the deep HTC Sense and Facebook integration which will makes the commercial version different from other Android smartphones. Nevertheless, this video should provides a good indication what the hardware will be about.
The HTC ChaCha is expected to be launched across Europe anytime in June/July but HTC has not yet confirmed any launch dates nor has it given an estimated price.
