Following yesterday's video view of HTC's new and updated TouchFLO user interface, which ships with the HTC Touch Dual, today I'm video viewing the new input methods on a 20 keys SureType-like O2 Xda star.
So the Xda star (as well as the 20 keys HTC Touch Dual version) includes a slide-out keyboard which reminds on BlackBerry's SureType technology as well as two new SIP (Soft Input Pannel) keyboards called "Touch Keyboard" and "Touch Keypad". The Touch Keyboard is a 1:1 SureType copy of the SureType hardware keyboard while the Touch Keypad is a more traditional 12 keys mobile phone-like keypad.

All three input methods, the hardware as well as the two software keyboard supports Tegic's XT9 single-tap as well as multi-tap input:

The two software keyboard will be available as a separate download for today's HTC Touch users as well. HTC confirmed, that the free download should be available end of this month. O2 Xda nova users will get the two new keyboards with the next ROM update.

Cheers ~ Arne
