the GIGA-BYTE GSmart t600
isn't a brand new device anymore,
unveiled it during last year's 3GSM World Congress already, this Windows
Mobile smartphone just made it recently to the European market. First launched
Russia late last year, it was introduced in
France last month and
soon hitting Germany as well.
Sporting Windows Mobile 6 Professional, the GSmart t600 is a 2.5G smartphone,
featuring quadband GSM and GPRS as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and WiFi b/g.
However, it neither features EDGE nor UMTS or HSDPA.
Nevertheless, the t600 has other advantages, like the Marvell XScale PXA270
CPU with 520 MHz, 64 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM (which can be expanded using microSD
cards), a small 2.6" touchscreen which supports real VGA resolution, the 2.0 megapixel autofocus camera with photo light and for sure mobile TV by supporting
DVB-T (in the UK
better known as FreeView):
At a weight of 140 grams including the 1300 mAh Li-Ion Polymer battery, the
t600 measures 110 x 55.5 x 18.5 mm which isn't to bad
for such a power horse.
During the next days I will try the GSmart t600,
especially its DVB-T functionality and will follow-up with some more videos and
the review later. In the meantime, please feel free to ask you questions in the
comments below which I will either cover separately in the next videos or in the review.
Cheers ~ Arne
