Picsel Technologies, a dynamic mobile platform provider that brings mobile content to life, today announced it is making Picsel's Proviewer application available direct to consumers. So far, available to ODMs only (for instance the Motorola MPx220 and the Samsung SGH-i300 Windows Mobile Smartphones were equipped with the Picsel Proviewer), the launch follows substantial prosumer demand for direct access to the application. Picsel have shipped over 40 million units of the attachment viewer worldwide and are bringing this fantastic solution direct to consumers, thus allowing mobile users to take full advantage of the best attachment viewing experience on the market.
The Proviewer solution, the very best solution to view attachments on the move,
allows users to seamlessly interact with content rich documents. It is the first
in a series of 'Pro' best-of-breed solutions which the company plans to deliver
to customers, offering an unrivalled user experience across the smartphone and
handheld device after-market.
Imran Khand, Picsel's CEO, said: "Picsel's philosophy is rooted in
delivering the most exciting, interactive customer experience to any mobile
device. Today, this involves empowering individuals to choose when, how and
where they receive content - independent of what's supported by their
service provider or mobile device. This rapid escalaction of customizing not
just the mobile content itself, but also how it is accessed and received is
the primary driver behind delivering Proviewer directly to consumers."
The Proviewer solution supports native Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint,
PDF, Plain text and Image files. The solution incorporates revolutionary Pan and
Zoom functionality alongside text reflowing, which makes viewing content on the
small screen a pleasurable experience, allowing users to access content rich
documents in an identical manner to how they appear on a PC.
Picsel Proviewer
can now be downloaded from www.picselpowered.com for use with Palm, Symbian and
Windows Mobile compatible devices. Nokia Software Market, Handango and other
online software retailers have also made the application available for purchase.
The solution is being launched at a special discount rate of just US$ 14.99 for
a limited period via the website. Visitors can also take advantage of a limited
Free Trial period, which will allow them to experience the power.
Unfortunately, the only Windows Mobile devices which are supported at the moment
are a coupe of iPaq Pocket PCs. A Windows Mobile Smartphone version isn't
available yet which is sad, since a Smartphone version (as mentioned above) is
available already, even if it wasn't designed for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices
initially.
