Are you ready for another smartwatch? No, I'm not talking about Samsung's upcoming release of the Galaxy Gear but about another Kickstarter funded smartwatch which wants to follow the great success of the Pebble. The "Omate TrueSmart" is said to go live today on Kickstarter.com. In design and development for over 1.5 years, with an international team from 8 countries across 3 continents, the Omate TrueSmart is said to go to the public on Kickstarter.com today at 10:00am PDT / 16:00pm CET. The Omate TrueSmart is pre-announced to be a "new generation smartwatch 2.0", featuring a regular wrist watch design; and it's said to work as companion accessory to smartphones and standalone.
Being a wearable by itself, the pre-announcement also mentioned that it's going to support Google GLASS and other wearable, being IP67 water-resistant and dustproof and - maybe most interesting - running on Android 4.2.2 with dual core CPU.
For now, that's all Omate unveiled but the Omate Press Team will give more information very soon. Let's see what Omate has to show us later today. However, the Facebook page already said that the Omate TrueSmart will ship in October.
Cheers ~ Arne
