Korea is absolute on top of the wireless developments. Frank Arnold just pointed me to this gadget, available in Korea. It's a CDMA2000 extension pack for the Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox. While FSC decided to kill the GSM/GPRS pack development, this Korean company comes around with another interesting solution - the i-ON Exp Pack for Pocket Loox:
||Min 9600bps, Max 230,400bps
||Min 3.4V, Max 4.2V
||Usage 2.35h, Waiting 50h
||400 ~ 1Khz 43dB
|Size / Weight
||126 x 62 x 8 mm / 95g
||Qualcomm MSM 5000
||IS-95A, IS-95B, IS-95C (CDMA 2000 1x)
|Data Transmit Rate
||50 Ohm ± 0.2(error rate)
||20mA idle, 200mA traffic
||-20 ~ +50 ?
||PocketPC 2002 / Pocket LOOX-600
Amazing features so far. However, keep in mind that this is a propriety solution and not based on Pocket PC Phone Edition. Also it works on CDMA200 networks only - not with GSM/GPRS and works close to the Compaq Wireless Pack as it doesn't take the Loox mic and speaker but its own inbuilt microphone and speaker. Also it has its own Send/End button as you can see on the pictures above. So it's an interesting alternative to any PC/CF cards for sure but it's not an adequate replacement for the original Fujitsu Siemens solution.
A price or availability wasn't given or at least my Korean isn't fluent enough to find it on the site... ;-)
