SMS and phonebook management
Finally, sending and receiving of SMS messages gets easy. Create SMS messages on your Pocket PC and use your Outlook contacts for addressing your messages. Received SMS can be stored and managed easily. Working with templates makes SMS messaging even more convenient. And not to forget - message master lets you manage your mobile's address book through your Pocket PC.

Utilizing SMS message master also provides a convenient and cost-transparent way to send e-mails at any time and any place without need to dial into the Internet or your corporate access point.

GPRS data access to databases, SAP R/3 and Intranets
message masterâ„¢ offers cost-efficient and fast access to corporate data. In conjunction with a message masterâ„¢ server installation at your company your mobile workforce gets convenient access to databases, SAP R/3 and Intranet content. On top of real-time data access via GPRS you can also change data online, e.g. by adding new data to your databases while being on the road.

Your administrator can create new applications and publish them to your mobile workforce for GPRS download. A special GPRS software technology developed by Derdack guarantees low communication costs in comparison to HTTP or WAP.

A direct comparison between Web access, WAP access and using message master mobile client proved a significant advantage for message masterâ„¢. The message masterâ„¢ technology reduced the data volume by 86% compared to Web access (using an Internet browser on the PDA) and still by 14% compared to a WAP phone access. (Source: Derdack case study - Reading a single contact information from an Exchange server incl. secure logon).

How it works
message master takes into account the special GPRS network features and limitations by using a new software technology for fast and cost-cutting access to corporate data. Data compression and a methods for pure user data transmission make message master a solid platform for today and future mobile data applications.

I've tested the new Derdack message master in a very early Beta stage last year and was very impressed what it delivered - on SMS as well as on GPRS. Find a review of the new version within the next few days here for sure!

Mit einem Nokia 6210 funktioniert fast gar nichts. Es können weder die Telefonnummern aus dem Hand gelesen werden noch die SMS-Nachrichten. Lediglich das verschicken von einzelnen SMS funktioniert. Ganz toll...
With a Nokia 6210 nearly nothing at all works. Neither the telephone numbers can be read from the mobile phone nor the SMS messages. Only sending individual SMS works. Whole madly... Translated by Arne

@Anonymous: Only a request first - please post your comment in English as it is fair for others cause your comment may be interssting for others to.

To the topic: I'm still in tests and didn't came yet to SMS and the phonebook functionalities; I still hangs on the GPRS functionalities and this is inspired. However - the other features I will look to later naturally!

Hi,

we indeed still have difficulties with the Nokia 6210. That's is due to a different ETSI protocol implementation of Nokia (happens quite offen ;-). We are working on this Nokia specific problem but decided to release the software anyway.

Best regards,
Matthes Derdack

@All: Thanks for the input from Matthes Derdack! Well, unfortunately it happens quite often that Nokia mobile phones works a little bit different than the rest of the ETSI gang... :-( (See also the support of Nokia's 6310 in combination with Pocket Presence's Running Voice at the PPCW.Net Support Forum. It's a such a bad thing that some phones works with great software, others not due to different implementations of ETSI and GSMA recommended specifications and I hope that we will not see more incompatibility with 3G(SM) phones!
So be aware - if you buy a new mobile phone - that it may not support all possible features in combination with your Pocket PC, as seen two times now with Nokia's 6xxx series... :-(
